Privacy Policy
Pranayama is a breathing practice app. It works without an account and keeps your data on your device. This policy explains what the app stores, what leaves your device and why.
What stays on your device
- Your practices, settings, reminders, session history, statistics, health test results and notes.
- Audio files you add yourself. The app keeps its own copy so it can play them.
We do not run servers that receive this data. We cannot see it.
What we do not do
- No account or registration.
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, tracking or crash reporting services.
- We do not sell or share personal data.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by the App Store on iPhone and by Google Play on Android. The app receives only the purchase status needed to unlock Premium. Payment details are handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy and by Google under the Google Privacy Policy.
Backups
You can create a backup file and save it wherever you choose, for example on the device or in cloud storage. You can protect it with a password; the file is then encrypted on your device before it is saved.
iPhone: if you turn on iCloud backups, copies are saved to the Pranayama folder in your own iCloud Drive. Apple stores them in your account; we have no access to them.
Android: if you sign in with Google for automatic backups, the app stores the backup in a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive (permission drive.appdata). The app cannot see your other Drive files. You can disconnect the account in the app at any time.
Permissions
- Notifications: reminders and, on Android, practice controls.
- Background audio, Live Activities (iPhone) or a foreground service and wake lock (Android): keeping the practice, sounds and phase cues running when the screen is off.
- Exact alarms and start after reboot (Android): delivering reminders on time.
- Vibration and haptics: marking each new phase.
- Network access: purchases and optional cloud backups only.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your choices
You can delete all app data by deleting the app (or clearing its storage on Android). Backups you saved yourself stay where you saved them until you delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date.
